A blazing debut album, Pocketknife contains beautifully crafted songs about seduction, deceit and confession, ambition, mediocrity and violence. It's intense, passionate, heart-breaking, honest, bitter and sometimes it's funny, too. With sounds ranging from 60's mellotron to cinematic cellos; slow wintry pop to manic electric guitars and an incredible voice that opens from the tenderest of whispers into a bruising roar. Sydney bred, Berlin based singer songwriter Kat returns to Australia this month to launch the album.

Kat Frankie spent her youth in the sunburnt suburbs of Sydney, scribing
countless songs in her parents’ sweltering attic. She moved to Berlin
in December 2004, where she is known for her passionate and dynamic
live shows, and a voice capable of illuminating the darker crevices of
human interaction – one moment bell-clear and bright, the next roaring,
howling and accusing…
